Oh Say Can You See? The Only Path to Victory is Liberation

The entire nation of South Africa. See this stop and frisk? See this separation and wall and ID checks? See the Apartheid state? We do. We know what we’re talking about. 

Parliament in Ireland, especially Matt Carthy. See this famine? See how they label our militia “terrorists”? We do. We know what we’re talking about.

Leaders in France. The UK too. See these soldiers going full on Nazi?! We do. We know what we’re talking about.

Fisherman in Yemen. See these colonizers using our waterways and resources to exploit citizens? See how they call us pirates while they steal our resources? We do. We know what we’re talking about.

Jews in America and abroad, including German Jews. See how we’re screaming, “Not again! Never again!”? See this zionist violence and oppression? See the walled Ghetto and illegal occupation? See how it’s NOT antisemitism, but certainly harming people’s views of Jewish people? We do. We know what we’re talking about.  

Black Americans and Africans. Indigenous Americans and First Peoples, too. See the racism? The police state? The settler colonies? The land grabs? We do. We know what we’re talking about.

American military. See the war crimes? The needless murdering of civilians? We do and we know what we’re talking about. We saw it in the flames from our brother, too.

Students at MANY universities including Vanderbilt, Harvard, Columbia and NYU. See the attacks on our Democratic right to assemble? See the fascism? We do. We know what we’re talking about. We see the bottles of urine filled by protesters when police held them unjustly, then denied them access to bathroom or food.

Palestinians. See us? Do you see this? 75 years of this. Mothers, children, uncles, friends. See how they killed our loved ones and flattened our homes? We do and we know what we’re talking about.

Muslims. See the attacks on our religion? See how they destroyed our Mosques and our history? See how they leveled our universities and any place where we educated ourselves and taught our history? We do, even during Ramadan.

Journalists around the globe. See all the censorship? See how they’re targeting journalists? See how the ones on ground zero are being chased by drones? See how they’re discrediting the media? We do. 

We also see what historians, professors documentarians, doctors, humanitarian organizations, NGO workers, and kids on TikTok see. 

Do you see the Apartheid state? Do you see famine, Nazi tactics, colonialism and exploitation, the slipping of democracy, the blocks to autonomy by anti-science authoritarians, the infighting and finger pointing, the obfuscation and blaming, the policing and bombing and distractions and destruction and the crack down on protesters? Do you see the cracks in their stories?

Do you see this Genocide? Do you know what it looks like?

Do you know what you’re talking about?

We ALL do. We the people…we see you.

USA State Department. We don’t see it that way. We see it, sort of but it’s not a crime. We abstained, but we didn’t mean it. But we did. I mean we largely agree with the resolution but it’s nonbinding (it sure is), and many of our Congress people agree with it too because their constituents do. But, Israel can still do what they want. Here’s $3.9 billion more. And don’t try to boycott because choosing where you put your money isn’t up to you as an American. But not putting your money into a country committing war crimes, now that is illegal and you can get arrested for supporting boycott and divestment of Israel.

We see. Backlash from all sides will happen when the wrong side of history is standing on shaky immoral and inhumane ground.

The path to peace isn’t war; it’s dignity and diplomacy.

Creating a war front to build on the waterfront is maniacal. The pinnacle of patriarchal capitalism is to put up parking lot on sacred ground.

We have more than moral high ground. We have each other. We’re grounded in our solidarity and the right to self-determination for all of humanity.

We see it. They can’t censure us all. Do they think they can gaslight us all?! They’re not going to win, because the only “win” is liberation.

We know exactly what we’re talking about.

Ceasefire. 

End the occupation. 

Land back.

Reconciliation.

Reparations.

You see. It’s working. Keep going till everyone is free.
